The World creators Society (WcS)
WcS is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
World creators Society (WcS) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2013 in Mulhouse (France) by Alain Souloumiac. It is part of a project suggested by Georges Herrmann, first president of the European Inventors Association, aimed at developing the “Universal Standard of Intellectual Property”.
The statutes of WcS draw inspiration from the “Société des auteurs dramatiques”; an innovative society established created in 1777 by Caron de Beaumarchais which still exists today. The visionary writer built this organization to introduce the first authors’ ecosystem ever created. He united some of the main writers of his time to compel theaters to pay royalties on the sales of the plays staged.
The first authors’ rights were credited by the Comédie Française for the famous play: “Le Barbier de Séville”.
